I work primarily in oils, but often take time to draw in charcoal, pencil, and pastel. Subjects right now tend to be chosen because of a relationship the subject has to my three kids. We go to local beaches a lot, so you'll find my work is inspired by life on the west coast
My work is in private collections world wide; I still marvel at the fact someone brought a piece home to Germany. I am focused on building a body of work, and the pandemic has proved to be a good time to stay at home and paint! So, you won't find my work in a gallery right now, but I'm happy to organize a socially distance visit to my studio.
I have been working as a full time artist since my husband proposed 17 years ago. I studied at the Victoria College of Art, and graduated as class Valedictorian in 1999.
Since that time I have had work included in juried shows in Vancouver, with the Federation of Canadian Artists, and on Vancouver Island at various venues, which include the Sooke Fine Arts Show and the Sidney Fine Arts Show. I have also enjoyed showing my work amongst the great artists who are members of the Island Illustrators Society.
I currently teach (when permitted!) in my studio, as well as a Cedar Hill Recreation Centre, where I have been an instructor for a very very long time!
